Dr. Abhenil Mittal has secured Rank 6 in AIIMS PG January 2015 session which was held on 9th November, 2014 (Sunday) and results were declared on 13th November, 2014.  He has also secured PGI AIR 7 in PGIMER entrance exam for January 2015 admission session. He has done his MBBS from MAMC, Delhi.

Q. In what year did you pass out your MBBS (Completion of Internship)?

Ans. 2013

Q. What were your MBBS percentage marks (aggregate or final year) ?

Ans. 71%

Q. What is the secret of your success?

Ans. Regular studies from the beginning and reading good quality text books.

Q. How was your internship?

Ans. It was good but very heavy as us the case in all Delhi colleges!

Q.  When did you seriously start preparing for the entrance exam?

Ans. From final year I would say but majority of the MCQ preparation I did in internship only.

Q. How many hours did you study each day?

Ans. Variable , depending on the time I got.

Q. Which books did you read for the theory part?

Ans. The most important are Robbins for Pathology, KDT for Pharmacology and Harrison for Medicine. Rest read all standard texts well.

Q. Which books did you read for MCQs revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?

Ans. Most productive we’re Gobind Rai Garg book for pharma and pathology, Sumer sethi’s Radiology and Apurva Mehra ORTHOPAEDICS. Least was probably across..very tough to recall.

Q. Which subjects did you focus on?

Ans. 1st and 2nd year mainly and short subjects.

Q. What were your study methods? How many revisions did you do for each subject?

Ans. I did the entire syllabus thrice in internship.

Q. What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?

Ans. I attempted 196 in AIIMS to maximize chances of getting questions correct you must mark as many as you can. I marked all in which I could eliminate 50% of the options.

Q. Did you join any classes or test series? Was it useful?

Ans. I joined DBMCI in internship and DAMS in 3rd year. Grand tests and short subjects notes were useful.

Q. Who or what influenced you to take up Medicine?

Ans. My parents!

Q. In which field do you want to specialize in? why?

Ans. Medicine, always been my first love !

Q. What is your advice to future aspirants?

Ans. Just be regular , religious in your studies and thorough..don’t take any question lightly..all carry equal marks!
