Dr. Girish v Kolambe has secured a provisional Rank 45 in Maharashtra PGM CET 2014. He has done his MBBS from MGM Medical College , Navi Mumbai.

Q. In what year did you pass out your MBBS?

Ans. 2011

Q. What ranks had you secured in any previous PG medical entrance exams you gave?

Ans. Rank 672 in PGM CET 2013 and Rank 4707 in NEET 2013

Q. What were your MBBS percentage marks (aggregate or final year) ?

Ans. 64.5 % Aggregate

Q. What is the secret of your success?

Ans. Did all subject wise books twice and regularly gave test series of Bhatia and DAMS

Q. How was your internship?

Ans. Didn’t studied much in internship!! Started reading after my internship.

Q.  When did you seriously start preparing for the entrance exam?

Ans. At end of March.

Q. How many hours did you study each day?

Ans. Minimum 12 hrs daily.

Q. Which books did you read for the theory part?

Ans. Theory books I read retrospectively. For doubts I used to refer them. Important topics from Park.

Q. Which books did you read for MCQs revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?

Ans. Across for Anatomy, for Embryo part I did Smart Series book , Arvind Arora for Physiology and biochemistry , Arvind Arora for Pathology, Garg for Pharmacology , Forensic Medicine and Toxicology from Across only , Arvind Arora for Microbiology , PSM Arvind Arora and Vivek Jain both , Surgery from Arvind Arora were most useful.

Q. Which subjects did you focus on?

Ans. Pathology, Pharmacology, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, PSM, Surgery and Ob/Gy.

Q. What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?

Ans. I attempted all 300 questions as no negative marking was there.

Q. Did you join any classes or test series? Was it useful?

Ans. T & D (Test & Discussion) of Bhatia last year and Test Series of DAMS and Bhatia this year.

Q. What seat have you been allotted in counselling? Did you join?

Ans. MS Orthopaedics Sancheti Institute For Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation. Didn’t join.

Q. What is your advice to future aspirants?

Ans. Give every class Test as your final exam  because one mcq can change your future.
