Dr. Achintya Singh\u00a0\u00a0has secured Rank 4 in AIIMS PG July\u00a02014 session which was held on 11th May and\u00a0results\u00a0<\/a>were declared on 15th May 2014. He has done his MBBS from\u00a0IGMC, Nagpur.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. In what year did you pass out your MBBS?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. 2014.<\/p>\n

Q. What ranks had you secured in any previous PG medical entrance exams you gave?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. Rank\u00a0256 in AIPGMEE 2014 and Rank 40 in Maharashtra \u00a0PGM CET 2014.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0What is the secret of your success?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. Ordinary brain with extraordinary perseverance.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0How was your internship?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. It was heavy but slowly and steadily kept on going on.<\/p>\n

Q. \u00a0When did you seriously start preparing for the entrance exam?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. Final year, started with short subjects gave an edge over others.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0How many hours did you study each day?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. Never calculated ..on my best days 6 to 8 hrs. During last months 8 to 11 hrs. Took breaks every week.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0Which books did you read for the theory part?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. All standard text like Robbins , Harrison, Bailey.<\/p>\n

Q. Which books did you read for MCQs revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0AA for Pathology and subject wise, for PSM – Vivek Jain were most productive. Nothing like least but yes Daga for Maharashtra has lots of errors.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0Which subjects did you focus on?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0PSM, 2nd year, 1st year…in that order.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0What was your<\/strong>\u00a0strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0196. Well took \u00a0a couple of wild guesses. Stayed calm in AIIMS\u00a0exams. Having a seat already took the pressure off.<\/p>\n

Q. Did you join any classes or test series? Was it useful?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0Bhatia foundation course. Was very useful and strongly recommended.<\/p>\n

Q. Who or what influenced you to take up Medicine?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. My parents.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0What is your advice to future aspirants?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. Be precise and always revise. All the best.<\/p>\n

Q. Indian PG entrances are highly competitive, so to crack them students end up in appearing for multiple PG exams with some of them having same exam with different slots and papers , please extend your views on this and their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. It’s good and gives you a chance to perform in all dimensions be it concepts or facts.<\/p>\n
