Dr. Pooja R Ghalsasi \u00a0has secured Rank 80\u00a0in DNB CET\u00a0July\u00a02014 session which was held between \u00a011 Jun \u2013 14 Jun 2014\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0results\u00a0<\/a>were declared on 3rd, August\u00a02014. She has done her\u00a0MBBS from\u00a0Dr. Vaishampayan Memorial Government Medical College (Dr. VMGMC), Solapur<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. In what year did you pass out your MBBS (Completion of Internship)?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. 2011.<\/p>\n

Q. What ranks had you secured in any previous PG medical entrance exams you gave?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. Rank 7000 in AIPGMEE 2014, Rank 5165 in DNB CET January 2014 Session and Rank 80 in DNB CET July 2014 Session.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0What is the secret of your success?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0DAMS class notes and my husband’s confidence in me.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0How was your internship?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. Heavy work.<\/p>\n

Q. \u00a0When did you seriously start preparing for the entrance exam?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. After my MO\u00a0ship, that is last year February.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0How many hours did you study each day?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans. 8 hrs.<\/p>\n

Q. Which books did you read for MCQs revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0MCQs\u00a0from DNB Kalam and test series of my class.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0Which subjects did you focus on?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a01st and 2nd year subjects, PSM\u00a0and\u00a0ObGy.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0What were your study methods? How many revisions did you do for each subject?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0I did self study. Made notes of things I couldn’t remember. Minimum 2 revisions I did of class notes.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0What was your<\/strong>\u00a0strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0I attempted around 197 questions. The other 3 I had no idea about. On exam day just be calm. Keep reading before u reach the exam center but get a good sleep night before your exam.<\/p>\n

Q. Did you join any classes or test series? Was it useful?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0Ya I had joined DAMS last year. This year had joined only DAMS test series.<\/p>\n

Q. Who or what influenced you to take up Medicine?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0I wanted it from childhood. And my grandfather inspired me.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0In which field do you want to specialize in? why?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0Medicine and then cardiology.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0What is your advice to future aspirants?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0Study hard. Revise your notes as many times as possible. Trust your instincts while answering questions.<\/p>\n

Q. Indian PG entrances are highly competitive, so to crack them students end up in appearing for multiple PG exams with some of them having same exam with different slots and papers , please extend your views on this and their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ans.\u00a0I had my target of DNB\u00a0right from beginning. I gave only three exams- AIPGME, DNB\u00a0and state. These are the exams where you have maximum chance of getting a good rank. And I think keep one exam as your target. Helps you study better.<\/p>\n
