This will enable the Government to retain experienced doctors for a longer period, and to provide better services in its public health facilities, particularly to the poorest, who are entirely dependent on public facilities.   Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Shri J P Nadda stated that this step will empower the Government to strengthen the healthcare sector in the country. It will help in providing additional doctors in the health pool of the country, he added. This will strengthen the efforts of the Ministry in conceptualising and rolling out various people-oriented schemes which l need the services of doctors in implementing them, Shri Nadda stated. \" width=\"620\" height=\"368\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has approved proposal increasing retirement age of central health services doctors to 65 years. It will be effective from\u00a0from 31st May 2016. The proposal was made by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for enhancing the age of superannuation of all doctors of the Central Health Service to 65 years.<\/p>\n<p>Retaining experienced doctors for longer period of time will help the patients and juniors doctors \u00a0as well. This approval will also allow those seniors doctors to take PG students for longer period of time, which will help in increasing PG medical seats in all specialties in\u00a0central health services.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pib.nic.in\/newsite\/PrintRelease.aspx?relid=145818\" target=\"_blank\">Press release<\/a> states following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Shri J P Nadda stated that this step will empower the Government to strengthen the healthcare sector in the country.
